Configure webhook endpoints to receive signed POST requests when payment state changes. Parse the cxpay-signature header, reject stale timestamps outside the five-minute tolerance, and return quickly while processing asynchronously. Failed deliveries retry and may dead-letter; use dashboard delivery logs to diagnose URL typos, TLS issues, or application errors on your side.

Fit and tradeoffs

CXPay fits wallet-native merchants globally who do not need Coinbase custody. Coinbase fits teams already in Coinbase compliance rails with US/SG banking.

Merchants outside the US and Singapore, or without a registered business entity and business bank account, may find that Coinbase Business is not available to them. CXPay sign-up asks only for an email, business name, and payout wallet, so former Commerce users in that position can keep accepting crypto without a banking relationship.
